I know many computers these days do not ship with internal cd drives but I still don't believe it's a hardship to arrange your audio ahead of time and provide us a disc. Still, I bristle at the idea of the technical staff having to bridge the gap entirely, managing their audio files, and taking that aspect of event coordination effectively off their plate and onto ours. I can certainly understand the want on their end and why it's more convenient. More and more theater users just want to toss us a thumb drive on event day and say 'Here's our music', which means they haven't read or adhered to our written user agreement. For years we've had users bring CD's for audio playback - loaded into our trusty Denon C635's. Long time audio tech at a big university theater doing 100's of events each year - community, campus, and professional groups.
